Bob and I went out during another cold, rainy, windy opener. Fishing was slow so we tried for some big northern pike and ended up catching a bass instead. The second day the weather cleared up and Bob caught a nice 25 inch walleye. About a 5-6 pounder. He had a nice one on that he missed. We had a few other bites and some perch. Leeches with a jig produced all the walleye bites. We tried minnows and crawlers and plain hooks with no luck. The water temp was mostly 47-48 degrees unless you went into a bay which was 51-53. Another week or two and the bite should really pick up.
